Sara Lamúrias was born in Lisbon in 1976. Even throughout her degree in Architecture of Fashion Design at Lisbon University’s School of Architecture, completed in 2002, she participates in 1998 in the 5th edition of the Sangue Novo (New Blood) competition, in partnership with Pedro Cruzeiro and later again in the 7th edition, this time solo.
After an internship in Bless label in Berlin, Sara decides to launch her own project calling it "aforest-design".
Created in 2003, "aforest-design" puts out a quarterly edition, aiming to launch new limited edition products over its website http://www.aforest-design.com/.
Affirmed as a free project and not just a brand of clothing, aforest-design merges design, clothing and art in a very particular speech, having been created in order to channel conceptual ideas in the form of products in limited edition, unique pieces and events willing to enrich the interaction between these various areas. Thus, its collaboration with various artists and companies has been a constant.
In March 2005, aforest-design incorporates the LAB platform of ModaLisboa. In July of the same year, she participates in the Bread & Butter fair in Berlin and Barcelona.
After winning the "Fast" contest from Who's Next in September 2007, in Paris, she participates in January 2008 in the Ideal Showroom in Berlin's Fashion Week.
She has participated in several individual and group exhibitions nationally and internationally namely (individual): the fabrica features in Lisbon, Bo Marais in Paris, ateliertage in Nuremberg, Experimenta Design in Lisbon, Nike 1-1 Lisbon and (group exhibitions): "Puzzled Tables" and "Where is a forest?" events of the Scrapp group, G7 project in the Galeria Zé dos Bois and finally in "The purpose of object trouvé, Marcel Duchamp and Company," Yron in Lisbon, with The Store of Lopes group.

Sara Lamúrias collaborates with the Beira Interior University teatching Project design at its Clothing Design Master.
