My name is Maria Zarifi, I have a BA (hons) Degree in Fashion, Marketing and Communications at Nottingham Trent University. From a young age I have shown great interest in both the fashion and art fields. After finishing my master degree I decided to take some time and inspiration to get back in touch with my creative side and built my brand name, ASPIRE, and my logo ‘Fashion meets art’.My spring-summer 2010 collection is creative and fashionable, with a slight kitsch side to it. The theme of the collection takes on a romantic and nostalgic journey to forgotten freedom and endless summers full of wonderful surprises. In order to bring out this feeling I chose different materials from handmade beads to crystals as the style of the accessories take on a simple luxury reflecting on a natural touch. What inspired me to create this collection is the fun loving, free spirited atmosphere we expect to experience during that time period, all reflected into a simple wearable art piece.
